Application
The insulator melts and breaks the circuit when the electric current through it exceeds its rated current value. It protects the main circuit from overload and short circuit. The thermal property of the metal wire allows the fuse to have both low electrical resistance as well as high heat sensitivity, so that it is best suited for industrial applications.
